Via Ferrata – Baumes Corcades (K3-K4)

Thanks to its spectacular Nepalese bridge, Baumes Corcades is probably the most popular Via Ferrata in Catalunya. With a length of 69 meteres, it is one of the longest bridges of its kind in Europe.

The route is divided into 4 sections which are split into short hikes. The first part starts with three vertical walls that will lead up 60m with a couple of pronounced overhangs. The second section includes the famous Nepalese bridge. There is also an alternative path below the bridge which is much easier. The third part is also devided into a difficult and a much easier path. The last part starts after a 15 minutes hike. The fourth part includes a ladder that leads to the summit of Puigsagordi (height: 972 meters).

The entire circuit is well marked; the hiking trail is in yellow and the via ferrata in red. As it is possible to skip the difficult parts by switching to the hiking trail, the via ferrata is also suitable for beginner.

The route also offers stunning views at the Montseny mountain range and the river Congost.

Difficulty: K3-K4

Duration: 3-4 hours

Rappel: optional

Location: Centelles, Barcelona
