Rock climbing in Abella de la conca

Abella de la Conca is a picturesque hamlet in the Catalan pre-Pyrenees with lots of technical wall and slab climbing possibilities, high quality rock, a beautiful remote landscape and amazing views over the valley. It’s without a doubt one of the best places to climb I have discovered so far and it doesn’t see many visitors.

A great place to stay is the Eco-refugi. The refugi is a very rustic but also cozy accomodation. The walls are made of straw and stone and rendered with lime. There is no supermarket in Abella de la conca and the accomodation is self-catering.

We climbed at the following sectors:
– Sector Esglesia (10 minutes walk from the village – recommendable routes: Bavaressa 7a/+, Tilopa 6c+, El deu de cosas petits 6b, Fira dels Embutits 6c, Ecodharma 6b)
– Sector Ferrata (15-20 minutes walk from the village – recommendable routes: Massa en Medved 6c, Green Line 6c, Abella Poli 6b+/6c)
– Forat dels Lladres: access climbing up the ferrata at Sector Ferrata, spectacular views ❤️ (recommendable: Deu dits 7a, Petit So 6b)
