A day in Liebenfels – an adventure Water-Path, a medieval castle and climbing

Looking for the perfect day trip in Carinthia? Liebenfels has it all: beautiful hiking trails, waterfalls, bridges, a castle, climbing walls.

I went there recently to spend the day. We started off with the adventure water path which takes about 2 hours (one way). The water is ice-cold but it was extremely hot, so it was just perfect. We didn’t want to follow the same trail back so we decided to visit fortress Liebenfels. One of the towers (height: 20 mt.) has climbing bolds!! 🙂

Beneath the fortress there is a big climbing wall (the more difficult routes on the right end are 40 mt.)

The difficulty of the routes increases from left (4-5) to right (up to 7a). The routes are marked on the bottom. Right of HO RUCK (6b+) all routes are between 6b and 7a.
