According to the climbing guide book Tivissa Rock Climbs (2020) “Those who visit will find unchalked, unpolished limestone and hundreds of established lines, many of them world class. And most have received a handful of ascents.“
Tivissa is indeed one of the lesser known climbing destinations in Tarragona (Catalonia). However, with its almost 500 routes (both sport and trad) it is absolutely worth a visit. You won’t find many topos online. I recommend getting the guide book. It is available at the local campsite for 20€.
We visited during the Easter holidays and had most crags entirely to ourselves. We were looking for routes mostly between 6b and 7b. The sectors we chose were Cova de Sant Nofre (15 routes, 6a+ to 7c+, height 20-25m), Roca Redonda (50 routes, 5 to 7c, max. height 20m) and Els Caus (28 routes, 5 to 8a, average height 30m).
