Sant Miquel del Fai – a worthwhile daytrip from Barcelona

About 40 km from Barcelona you can find a spectacular place called Sant Miguel del Fai. It is a perfect destination for a day trip from Barcelona.

San Miguel del Fai is the name of a 11th-century Benedictine monastery which was, not so long ago, declared a cultural landmark. It is located in the Natural Park Monseny and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful.

The monastery itself offers a Romanesque church (10th century), a pond, a picnic area, a museum, two astonishing caves, a spectacular waterfall and a small chapel (also from the 10th century).

Entrance fee: 8 Euros

Location: Bigues I Riells, Catalonia.

About the author

My name is Carmen and I love to travel and explore new places. I love animals and that is why I don’t eat them. I defend the idea that animals are entitled to the possession of their own lives and that their most basic interests should be afforded the same consideration as similar interests of human beings!
