Berga – Climbing in the Pre-Pyrenees (1h drive from Barcelona)

This absolutely amazing climbing spot close to the monastery Santuary de Queralt is only about a 1 hour drive from Barcelona with great views at Berga and its surroundings.

You can park at the monastry and from there it’s only about a 15 minutes walk to the wall (mirador de la Garreta – left hand side of La Cova de la Mare de Déu de Queralt).

The climbing is very easy (4 – 6b+). The rock is mostly calcareous (limestone) with some parts of conglomerate. It’s the perfect place for a relaxed day! There is a restaurant in the monastry were you can get a snack and Alhambra beer 🙂 plus the area is great for hiking.

There are a few other climbing walls close by. There is even one at the parking lot, another one 5 minutes from the parking lot (take the hiking trail from the parking lot that leads down to Berga (about 6 routes, grades 4/4+) and there is another small sector on the right hand side of La Cova de la Mare de Déu de Queralt (Font del Bou – 4 routes: 5+, 6b, 6a+, 6a, in that order left to right).

Multipitch routes – Mirador de Garreta
